The Duck Restaurant becomes
part of Lake History...

The Duck has been part of the Lake of the OzarksA toast to you! for 30  years and it has been our life since 2002. As our menu says, "it was an opportunity not to be missed".  Running a restaurant takes lots of energy and total commitment.  We've given it our all, to the exclusion of family, friends and an occasional leisurely Saturday night off during the summer with them.  It is time for us to change direction, and so The Duck will not reopen as a fine dining restaurant in 2015.

Over the years we gathered a small but exceptional staff and they have been the keChefs at work!y ingredient to our success.  But we have other adventures that we'd like to attend to: we long to do some traveling during the summer (April in Paris is calling and the wine country in September or October), use our boat more and enjoy some simple pleasures again, like just going out to another restaurant or event on a Friday night, or simply sleeping in late on Saturday morning, things we've not been able to do for 13 years.  All good things must come to an end, and as one winemaker said, we have a  "finite amount of life-force to spend".Sunset at The Duck

We'll miss seeing all of you, the friends we've made in the restaurant since 2002 and will cherish the memories.  A Big Thanks to all of you for supporting us and the restaurant over the years.
